Naoko Tajima is an internationally acclaimed award-winning director based in Tokyo. She has directed more than 300 TVCs, films, branded contents, and music videos, for global clients such as Amazon, P&G, Dyson, Unilever, Panasonic, Midea, Haagen Daz, Toyota, Nissan, Nestle, Shiseido, Sony, etc. Her past works as director and cinematographer has been awarded at Cannes Film Festival “Best European Shorts”, Hollywood Film Festival, Moondance Film Festival, Cairo International Film Festival, Tokyo Short Shorts Film Festival, Moving Pictures International Film Festival, Honolulu Film Festival, and many more. Her signature TVC, Amazon Prime’s “Lion Dog” was aired globally, and won best audience award in Japan 2017.
During her 9 years at Hakuhodo Products, she worked alongside agency creatives which led her to understand the full creative process of advertising as well as strong communication strategies and skills. She strives for clear and detailed communication throughout the production process, which attributes to her strong cinematographic delivery and outstanding execution, and brings together her sense of balance between logistical efficiency and the artistic approach. She is also one of the very few bilingual female directors in Japan working globally, and can execute a wide range of styles from beauty, emotional drama, comedy, and high fashion.
She has also served as jury at many prominent advertising festivals such as the Gerety Awards, BOVA, AICP Awards, Ciclope and Cannes International Advertising Festival 2022.
